Synopse
Family is everything. Family is forever. What are you left
with, then, if you have to leave it? Are you haunting your
family? Or is your family haunting you?... HAUNTED uses
paranormal sightings to immerse us in the experience of
family estrangement, a growing social phenomenon yet
taboo subject. The people we leave behind or who leave
us continue to haunt us: although they haven't completely
disappeared, they remain out of reach. HAUNTED
documents the scars caused by these ruptures – the
presences left behind by absences. Here, the outcasts do
the talking: by giving voice to those who have cut ties with
their families as well as those left behind, the documentary
will focus on the aftermath of estrangement. The film's
interest is not in assigning blame, but in revealing the
unquestioned, often unnoticed social function of family.
