Synopse
In February 2013, the spotlight is on Schladming, Austria, venue of this year's World Alpine Ski Championship. The mountains around Schladming are an impressive natural winter sports arena for hundreds of thousands skiers. How does nature get along with these crowds? If we respect nature, there is enough room for men and animals in these mountains. Wild nature has long re-conquered this mountainscape. Migrating wolves have crossed these forests in recent years. Wildlife is so abundant that wild habitats overlap with ski runs. Ski lifts closed after the winter season turn into a place of a different sort: Groups of black grouse gather among steel structures to fight over females. In remote corries, chamois have their kindergartens, an entertaining spectacle for the privileged viewers.
