llia Mashkin is a director, screenwriter, and audiovisual arts student at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. In his work, he focuses on internal conflicts within family relationships and exploring the mentalities of different nations—interests rooted in his previous studies of political science and psychology in Ukraine.
His key short films include Our Closed One (2023), VFX film Core memory (2026) and The Spirit of Strife (2024), which received support from the Filmová klapka Fund at the Zlín Film Festival. He is currently finalizing his Master’s project, documentary film U krajiny stolu (czech), about Ukrainian speed-frending event in Prague and how people can bound together throw strong community.
