Adam was born in England and lived in Belgium and France before completing his mainstream education in the United Kingdom. He studied a combined MA Degree in Film & English at Brunel University in 2001, achieving a 1st Class Honours. After graduating, Adam worked as a Teacher and Outreach Worker, before setting up at independent TV and Film Production Company called 'Animal Monday' with two friends, Kat Mansoor and William Hood. Adam works as a Director and Editor for Animal Monday. He directed their first long-form documentary, 'Here's Johnny' which won two Grierson Documentary awards in 2008. The film, which follows the artist John Hicklenton as he comes to term with Multiple Sclerosis, also won the 'Best Film' award at the 2009 Kos International Health Film Awards.
