Adam Smrekovský

koproducent

Adam Smrekovský (* 1996) works with the medium of moving image and film narration. He follows the practices of experimental film and video art, based on DIY culture. His films usually operate with absurd humour, the characters in his films are often real outsiders, bizarre characters, people living on the periphery of the city, as well as on the fringes of society, far from the dimly appealing glitter of artistic decadence. Smrekovský graduated with Martin Mazanec and Jan Šrámek in the video studio at the FaVU VUT in Brno. He participated in an internship at Cooper Union in New York. His short films have been screened at the PAF Olomouc festival as part of the Other Visions CZ competition (2021) and the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště (2021). He has exhibited his works in Prague and Brno (FaVU Gallery, Berlin Model, Jelení Gallery) or in Uničov at the Festival of Contemporary Art (2022), and curates the Přespolní platform in Lubná u Poličky.
