Katalin Bársony, CEO of Baxt Films (founded in May 2013) is an award winning filmmaker, a sociologist and ED of the Budapest-based Roma NGO Romedia Foundation. She created the first ever documentary series on Roma communities around the world to be broadcast on a mainstream television channel: “Mundi Romani – the World through Roma Eyes” (42 episodes shot in 28 countries). “Trapped – the Forgotten Story of the Mitrovica Roma”, an episode of the series was nominated for award at the Monte Carlo TV Festival (2008) and at FIPA (2009). She directed “Uprooted” (2011), nominated for award at the 8th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival in 2012. Katalin Barsony won the HBO Adria Award for Best Pitch at ZagrebDox in 2013 for her documentary “3 Brothers”.
