Barbara Windtner made a diploma in Theater, Film and Media Studies in Vienna in 2006. Afterwards she studied film in Buenos Aires, Argentina, lived there for almost five years and created together with the Columbian Director Iván Marín the award winning documentary „Barrio del Tambor“ and „Villa Freud“. „Searching for Isolde“, the opening film of the Crossing Europe Filmfestival 2015, is her first long documentary which she researched and produced together with Ulrike Hager. Now Barbara lives in Vienna, works internationally with Dina Borsch as WanderSis Films, directing and producing documentaries and videos about culture, art, history and society from a personal point of view.
