Heino studied law and graduated from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). After graduating in 1991, he founded Ma.ja.de. Filmproduktion GmbH in 1991. Since 2003, he has also been managing director of his own world sales company for documentary films, Deckert Distribution.
