Haukur is a film director and producer, author of numerous short films, advertising productions, documentaries and two feature films. Haukur is a graduate from the Directing Department of Łódź Film School. Haukur is a co-founder of NUR, an independent film production company.
Haukur's newest production was In Touch, a feature-length documentary, a Polish-Icelandic co-production that won many awards including the Special Jury Award at IDFA 2018, he was the writer/producer. This film also won the best picture award at Skjaldborg 2019 and was released both in Bíó Paradís and RÚV.
