Jörg Oschmann was born in East Berlin. At the time of momentous changes in East Germany (1989-1991) he was eleven years old. The continuing insecurity and disillusionment in his environment sensitized his view and awoke his interest in people in times of dramatic changes. He studied at the Vienna Film Academy. “Hello democracy” is his first mid-length documentary.
