Nik Voigt began as a documentary photographer and has many years of practice weaving together characters, events, locations and subjects into works of beauty that are greater than the sum of its parts. It was his love of visual storytelling that eventually brought him to producing documentary films. Nik works as a cinematographer, director and editor. He has worked in a range of film and media fields before finding his calling in documentary film in 2016. Nik has since gained 9 DoP credits on documentary feature films, which, have been shown on Arté and screened at numerous European festivals. Although Nik has experience directing commercials, corporate films and short films, this film, Magic Mountain, is Nik’s directing debut for a feature documentary.
Besides making documentary films Nik also works as a tutor helping filmmakers to understand the filmmaking process, teaching them skills and helping them develop their ideas.
