After graduating Oxford University with a First in Politics, Philosophy & Economics in 2002, Tom Wilson moved to Romania where he worked as a freelance writer. He worked for publications including Time Magazine, The Guardian, The Economist, The Times, The Independent, Dazed & Confused. He started out making radio documentaries for the BBC, and was a finalist in global competitions such as the International URTI Radio Grand Prix. He went on to shoot documentary films for the BBC on a variety of subjects. His first feature film, The Bucuresti Experiment (2013) was made without a budget, or a production company, or any crew at all. It went on to win Romania’s National Film Award (Gopo) for Best Documentary in 2014 and screened at festivals in Europe and America.
