Fiona Ziegler was born in Switzerland. Before finding her vocation in filmmaking, she graduated in history and international politics at The Geneva Institute of International Relations. While working as an assistant director in theatre and as an assistant of script continuity on film sets, she decided that her main interest was film. Intrigued by the Czech New Wave, she decided to learn the Czech language and study at FAMU. She is currently a student at the Department of Directing at FAMU, working on her graduation film. Her short films Iron Cinderella (2011), Domov (2013), 2:1 (2013) and Božská častice (2015) were screened at various international festivals.
