Mikhail Brashinsky graduated from Leningrad State Institute of Performing Arts with a degree in theater science (1987). In 1989-1998 studied in the USA. Russian correspondent for Variety International Film Guide (1994–2002). I
In 2003 he made his debut as a screenwriter and director of the film “Ice”, which was shown in the official programs of the Berlin and Rotterdam IFF and awarded among other prizes the Grand Prix of the IFF in Seattle (USA, 2003).
In August 2012, at the XX Russian Film Festival “Window to Europe” in Vyborg, the film “Shopping Tour” was awarded with the Main Prize of the festival - for humor and genre audacity as well as the prize of the Film Critics and Film Critics Guild of Russia.
