Pedro Fernandes Duarte is the founder of the Portuguese film production company PRIMEIRA IDADE. In 2020 he premiered at the Berlinale's Encounters program the feature “The Metamorphosis of Birds”, directed by Catarina Vasconcelos, awarded the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film, along with 18 other prizes worldwide, screened in more than 50 festivals and sold to 10 territories so far. In 2017 he premiered at Cannes Film Festival's Critics’ Week the fiction-short film “Bad Bunny”, directed by Carlos Conceição, screened also at festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, New Directors/New Films in New York. Bought by ARTE TV. In 2019, he premiered the fiction short-film “Ruby”, directed by Mariana Gaivão, screened at the IFF Rotterdam, Palm Springs (USA), and awarded Best Director at Curtas Vila do Conde.
