Jakob Krese Weidner grew up between the former Yugoslavia and Germany. He studied cinematography and directing at Babelsberg, Havana and Sarajevo. Since 2018 he has been working as a cinematographer, director, writer and producer of creative documentaries. His films have screened at internationally renowned festivals such as IFFR Rotterdam, Vision du Réel, Palm Springs and Busan and won numerous awards. His first feature-length documentary Lo Que Quenda En El Camino is currently on a successful festival tour and will be released in North American and Brazilian cinemas in winter 2023. He is currently working on his second feature The Gods Must Be Mistaken as an international co-production between Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, with ZDF/ ARTE.
