After attending École Pratique des Hautes Etudes he worked as an editor about cinematography literature focusing on authors as Christian Metz, Jean Luc Godard, Michelangelo Antonioni, Frederico Fellini and Marguerite Duras.
In 80s he coproduced two films by Marguerite Duras and shot three feature films that were screened in Cannes, Venice and Motréal competitions. He dedicated himself to travelling, especially to Asia and then in 90s he produced films in Asia, India and Eastern Europe. Films he produced competed four times in Cannes, three times in Venice, twice in Locarno and once in Berlin. Since the year 2000 he focuses on directing his own films. He is a member of the Etoiles de la Scam jury.
