Jakub Režný holds an M.A. in dramaturgy from the Janáček Academy of Arts Brno and works as a screenwriter and dramaturg. He is an experienced writer and dramaturg of scripted as well as documentary formats for cinema and television.
The two-part television film Dukla 61, for which he wrote the screenplay, won the Czech Lion for Best television film or miniseries in 2018, the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival 2018, The Golden Kingfisher Award at Finále Plzeň Festival 2019 and was nominated for the Czech film critics award 2018, the Prix Europa 2018 and Monte-Carlo Television Festival 2019.
