Michal Hlavačka was born in 1980 in Banská Bystrica, Czechoslovakia. In 2003 he graduated from the Academy of the Music and Dramatic Arts (VSMU), specialization film production. Since 1998 he worked as a production assistant, production and post-production manager in various TV and event projects. In 2000 he joined Protos Productions and has produced hundreds of commercials for local and international clients. Protos Productions has produced several short documentary or feature movies: Tak Davno Som Ti Nenapisala (dir: A. Horecna, 2001), Night in Hotel (dir: M. Libovic, 2004), Ahmud Zewail (dir: R. Kirchhoff, 2007), Čas v Meste, Mesto v Čase (dir. M. Šlapeta, 2008), Chytte Ho! (dir. B. Šima, 2008), Identity Petržalky (dir. J. Chlpik, 2008), Až do Mesta Aš (dir. I. Grofova, 2008).
