Three weeks

The village of Zemo Nikozi is located directly at the demarcation line to South Ossetia, one of the Georgian occupied regions. This village was hit particularly hard during the August war in 2008 and the people lost all their connections to the region of South Ossetia, where they used to study, work, trade and visit family and friends. Many of them left Zemo Nikozi during the conflict, being terrified about how will their village look like when they come back.
Short film Three weeks explores the feeling of belonging to a certain place, connection to the land which is manifested through relations to ground, animals and objects. We asked a question: What was the first thing you had to check on when you came back to your village after the war?
