Haddock Entertainment is one of Poland’s most trend-setting and environmentally responsible film production companies, specializing in fiction films, TV series, and documentary projects. Founded in 2021, following long-term activity in Iceland, the country’s most iconic fish, the haddock (Icelandic: ýsa), was incorporated into the company’s logo.
Haddock Entertainment focuses on international co-productions, striving to deliver unique cinematic experiences to audiences worldwide and create films of the highest quality, as evidenced by their regular selection for A-class international film festivals.
Haddock’s films go beyond the mainstream, offering the finest entertainment enriched by innovative narratives. Believing that the struggles of the modern world can be narrated in an immersive way, the team highlights the stories of underrepresented and marginalised communities, such as the Indigenous Finno-Ugric peoples portrayed in “Fish swim alive underwater” and “Restaged”, alongside themes such as the fragility of the natural world, global political conflicts, and technological transformation.
Haddock Entertainment carries out the entire film production process, encompassing everything from script development to shooting and editing. Making the most of cutting-edge technologies, the company always keeps the Earth’s interests at heart. Haddock Entertainment is the first company on the Polish market which produces feature and documentary films in accordance with global green certification standards. Thanks to its founder’s expertise in sustainability planning and green production, the enterprise contributes to the green transition in the audiovisual sector.
Besides filmmaking, Haddock Entertainment is involved in academic research in collaboration with cultural institutions and universities. The company actively contributes to the development of the education sector and, as a partner in international consortia, participates in designing policies and procedures related to film production, including through the project CineVET: Innovating Vocational Training in Cinema and Digital Arts.
