New Holland Island International Debut Film Festival

he New Holland Island International Debut Film Festival is a platform for bold cinema, opening new frontiers and expanding established formats. Our mission is to support original and distinct author’s statements and bring new names to the global stage. A separate emphasis is placed on the educational area. The festival in St. Petersburg is being held based on the New Holland: Cultural Urbanization project. New Holland Island is a man-made island and a complex of historic buildings in the very center of St. Petersburg. After being used by the military throughout its entire history, it first opened to the public in 2011. Now, at New Holland Island, there is a park where concerts, festivals, film screenings, educational and sporting events take place. The goal of the project New Holland Island: Cultural Urbanization is not only to restore the historical and architectural monument but also to gather around it a community of progressive and creative people who determine the future of the project today.
