The Directorate invites film studios, TV companies, distribution companies, independent producers to send applications for participation in the Festival's competitive programs.

The Festival "Listapad 2021", continuing the long history of the film forum, will try this year to expand the geography of the participants and to present the best achievements of world cinema.

The Film Festival aims to acquaint the Belarusian audience with the most interesting and significant works of national and foreign filmmakers whose creativity is based on universal human values.

This year the competition program includes:

- Main Feature Films Competition;

- Main Documentary Films Competition;

- Competition of Youth Films "Cinema of the Young";

- Competition of films for children and youth audience "Listapadzik".

Preference is given to the films specially mentioned at international film festivals and highly acclaimed by filmmakers and viewers.

There also will be screenings of the out of competition program “Cinema of Friends” which will include the works of the film companies, partners of “Belarusfilm” as well as retrospective screenings dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding film director, People’s Artist of the USSR and the BSSR Victor Turov. Special attention will be paid to such dates as the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the 50th anniversary of Belarusian animation.

The Directorate of the main Belarusian cinema event of the year will work on the basis of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “The National Film Studio “Belarusfilm”

Rules

Only full-length films made in the last one and a half years specially mentioned at international festivals and highly acclaimed by filmmakers and viewers may participate in the Feature Competition Programs.

No less than 12 films from no less than 10 countries participate in the Main Feature Films Competition.

Only full-length films and length made in the last one and a half years specially mentioned at international festivals and highly acclaimed by filmmakers and viewers may participate in the Documentary Competition Programs.

No less than 12 films from no less than 10 countries participate in the Main Documentary Films Competition.

Films created in the last one and a half years are participating in the Competition of Youth Films "Cinema of the Young". Films of all genres are accepted. The director's age at the time of filming must not be more than 40 years old.

No less than 10 most outstanding debut films (the first or the second work of the film director) participate in the Competition of Youth Films "Cinema of the Young".

Only full-length feature and animated films (of any running-time) made in the last one and a half years may participate in the Competition of films for children and youth audience "Listapadzik";

No more than 10 films participate in the Competition of films for children and youth audience "Listapadzik".

Film studios, TV companies, distribution companies, independent producers and others may participate in the Festival if they hold the copyright on the submitted films.

Only the films that haven’t been publicly shown in the Republic of Belarus are eligible for participation in the Festival Programs.

To be considered for one of the competition programs one has to fill in the application form before September 30, 2021.

Submission of the film for the selection is free of charge.

Demonstration copies of films participating in the Festival's competitions must be in the original language and with English subtitles if the original language is not English.

Copies of films accepted for the other programs of the Festival Competition Programs should be submitted to the Festival Directorate no later than 25.10.2021.

The final decision on the number of films participating in the Competition Programs is made by the Festival Directorate. The order of the Competitive Demonstration of films is determined by the Festival Directorate.

Please, note that only complete entry forms are accepted. The entry form should contain links to the following documents:

- Preview link to the film;

- Synopsis, promo materials and press kit;

- Film trailer and stills;

- Editing or dialogue list in electronic version and / or .srt file with English or Russian subtitles;

- Materials for the catalogue (photos: stills and director’s photo)

Simultaneously the copyright owner agrees with:

- public presentation of the film within the competition or non-competition program with the participation of the members of the crew;

- screening of the film parts on TV, on the official Film Festival website and in other promotional materials for the festival;

- use of the film shots for the publicity and promotional materials (catalogues, website, multimedia presentations, etc.).

Only the films that haven’t been publicly shown in the Republic of Belarus are eligible for participation in the Film Festival Program.

The Film Festival Directorate defines the Program of film screenings.

Each film can be shown during the Film Festival no more than five times including press screenings.

The Film Festival Directorate reports on the films selected for the competition program no later than the date of the official introductory press-conference of the Festival.

Each film in the Competition Programs should be personally presented by 1 or 2 delegates (a director, a producer, an actor/actress).

Hospitality terms for other Film Festival guests are indicated in their personal invitations.

The Film Festival Directorate covers all the costs connected with the transportation of the films participating in the Film Festival Programs to Minsk.

The Film Festival Directorate covers the costs of storage and insurance of film prints participating in the Film Festival Programs.">
