Helena Třeštíková: I have my doubts all the time. That’s a good thing
Helena Třeštíková is the first Czech director to get a retrospective at the IDFA festival in Amsterdam. Třeštíková is well known for her long-time observations of ordinary people that can sometimes take decades to finish.

My Unknown Soldier and Circus Rwanda at Divadelná Nitra
The international theatre festival Divadelná Nitra (September 28 – October 3) in Slovakia offers accompanying film programme curated by the Institute of Documentary Film. Among the screened documentaries are Circus Rwanda, Milda and My Unknown Soldier.

The Yes Men, Mansky and McAllister - first tutors of Ex Oriente Film workshop in Ji.hlava revealed
The 2nd workshop of Ex Oriente Film 2018/2019, titled Inside the Production, will take place at IDFF Ji.hlava from October 24 to 29, 2018. Among the tutors are Mike Bonanno (half of The Yes Men duo), Vitaly Mansky and Sean McAllister.

Zdeněk Blaha is our new manager of the East Doc Platform from September 2018. Tereza Šimíková, who was the head of the 7th edition of EDP in 2018, is joining CPH:DOX where she will take care of CPH:FORUM.

Submit your feature, short and interactive projects to the East Doc Platform 2019 which will take place in Prague, March 9 – 15, 2019. The application deadline is November 12, 2018.

KineDok invitation: Prague premiere of Occupation 1968
After the screening of the documentary Occupation 1968 at KVIFF, Prague audience will be able to see the film on August 21 (+ Monika Načeva concert) and on August 24 in Kasárna Karlín. Both screenings are for free, followed by a discussion with creators.

KineDok premiere: My Unknown Soldier
The public premiere of My Unknown Soldier (dir. Anna Kryvenko) will take place in DOX Centre for Contemporary Art on August 18. Other screenings will take place in Kasárna Karlín on August 22 and 26 (for free). The film is in Czech with English subtitles.

Czech Dream – Klusák and Remunda retrospective in Moscow
From 19th to 23rd September 2018 three Moscow cinemas – Kosmos, Fakel and Youth – will screen 8 films by Czech documentary filmmakers Vít Klusák and Filip Remunda as part of a directorial retrospective called Czech Dream.
