East Doc Market Award goes to No Mercy - The Female Gaze

At Sunny Side of the Doc 2021 the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) has awarded two projects. East Doc Market Award went to No Mercy - The Female Gaze (dir. Isa Willinger) and Talent Hub Central & Eastern Europe Award to Cinema Under Siege (dir. Srđan Šarenac). Several projects which were part of IDF's activities were awarded as well. Congratulations!

The statement: "Cinema under siege: from the strong title to the trailer, to the presentation, to the importance, to the strong archive, animation and stories from the protagonist, convinced us that this will turn out to be a film that tells the history of a war from an unique angle; that should not be forgotten and has to be remembered today."

The award for the Best History Pitch sponsored by PBS International and also The Meeting Point Vilnius Award went to The Ultimate Joker (dir. Krzysztof Dzięciołowski, prod. Agata Jujeczka, PL). The project was presented at the East Doc Market 2021. Read about the project at BDE.

72 Hours (dir. Anna Savchenko, prod. Isabel de la Serna, Jean-Marie Gigon, BE, BY, FR) has won the Best Work in Progress Central & Eastern Europe, sponsored by AJB DOC. The project was awarded at East Doc Platform 2021 where it was part of East Doc Market.

A prize sponsored by Movies That Matter went to Waitergate (dir. Konrad Szolajski, prod. Malgorzata Prociak, PL, NO). The project was part of East Doc Forum 2021. Read about the project at BDE.
