The Sarajevo Film Festival is an international event with a special focus on the region of South-East Europe. On the list of films competing in the documentary section are included two titles from the selection East Silver Caravan. Together with other twelve recent documentary productions of Southeast Europe and Southern Caucasus will run for the Heart of Sarajevo Award, Human Rights Award and Special Jury Prize.

The regional premiere is waiting for the Romanian documentary Planeta Petrila by Andrei Dascalescu. The film shows an ex-miner using art and absurdism to stop local authorities from demolishing the historic buildings. His quest is not only to preserve the history and the identity of his hometown, but also to find new ways of keeping the community from irreversibly falling apart.

East Silver Caravan is pleased to add to its selection the film by the Macedonian director Ilija Cvetkovski, a story about a biology teacher who is about to retire Avec l´Amour. He owns over a hundred rusty vintage cars most of which don’t even work, and every night he sleeps next to his cars in the outskirts of the town he lives in, only to dream of opening up a museum for his unusual collection.
