Synopsis
A place where history and oblivion agrees with death, but also with life. Al Arafa (Cairo) is the oldest cemetery -still active- in Egypt. But it is also at most, the home of 50,000 families that didn't have the chance to find something better in the city. Located in the old town of the city, Al Arafa is one of the few places where the dead and the living even share the same room.
Rami, 29, was born here and he loves this place more than any other. That does not prevents him from having an iron desire for
emmigrate and find out what's beyond the cemetery.
Salama however, 44 years old, has agreed to live and die here. Sharing his life with his wife and two children on a common grave
in the humblest part of the cementery where the biggest aspirations hide.
