Leaving

The film revives stories of last Slovak uprising rebels, who went through prison and concentration camps, and today live almost forgotten by the society, and in bad health as a consequence of hardship during the war. They have to rely on social welfare and the help of others. The film records their daily life, and at the same time looks into the past through fragments like photographs and archived pictures in short flashbacks. The veterans look at the today’s world of changed values, which they can hardly understand, and they ask a question: „What did we actually fight for?”
