Synopsis
The Track is a coming-of-age journey of 3 teenage friends chasing their improbable Olympic dreams in post-war Bosnia. As Mirza, Zlatan, and Hamza fight to rebuild their bullet-riddled luge track, which they still train on today—a poignant symbol of Bosnia’s need to heal—the film captures their relatable, sometimes humorous, and heartfelt quest for a better life despite religious strife and economic hardships. While Mirza hopes to defy the odds for an Olympic berth, Zlatan and Hamza's arcs go beyond sport, diving into contemporary issues of today. The heart of the film lies in their journey to adulthood over a 4 year filming period amid Bosnia's unresolved tensions and global conflicts. Ultimately, the film asks: where does a generation go after war?
