Synopsis
In abstract painting, the square bounded by equal sides and sharp verticals, represents precision, while the soft-edged circle represents an open, boundless world. In a certain sense this also applies to the protagonist of this documentary. For his entire life, he has strived to be free, independent, living as if boundaries did not exist, though never breaking his own internal, clearly-defined principles. Ossif’s work and lifestyle make him stand out. Instead of adapting himself to the world, he attempts to adapt the world to his own ideas. He has everything he needs for a comfortable, care-free existence. But the same comfort that would satisfy others for a lifetime troubles him, compelling him to seek out new frontiers of creativity and living, and to continue fulfilling his dreams.
