Marek works as a freelance director and producer and, as a member of FIPRESCI, regularly writes about cinema. Marek took part in MIDPOINT Feature Launch (2016), Zurich Film Festival Industry Academy (2020), Talent Nest (2022), Less is More (2023), and Berlinale Talents (2025). He is a member of the Association of Czech Audiovisual Directors and Screenwriters and the Association of Czech Producers, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a member of the European Film Academy. He works as a preselector for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and Pragueshorts, and serves as an expert for Creative Europe: MEDIA and Czech Audiovisual Fund.
