Marek graduated from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies from Palacky University in Olomouc and from the Department of Directing on FAMU. He works as a freelance director and editor and as a member of the FIPRESCI he often writes about cinema He was selected for Zurich Film Festival Industry Academy 2020, Talent Nest Vilnius 2022 and LIM Development Angels workshop 2023. He worked as a Head of Development for Marlene Film Production from 2019 to 2021 and since November 2020 he works as a Game Designer for Warhorse Studios. Marek is a member of Association of Czech Audiovisual Directors and Screenwriters, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, member of the European Film Academy and works for his production company - Films & Chips.
