The Story of Helena

Helena's development after she turned 49, was moved from the institution for people with disabilities and started a new life in a community housing. Helena is a very social, fun, friendly, and always radiates optimism. Hard to believe her diagnosis, which is: mild mental disability. The film captures her personal evolution over time and the situations she has to deal with, due to her long-term separation from community. Whether in terms of relationship with her sister, and mother. Helena is working hard and intensively on herself, because she loves people. Friends are everything for her. People around her are nice, but they keep their distance. Guardian, or community housing workers do not expect Helena to overcome herself. Meanwhile, the film's director leads Helena to talk about the meaning of her life. What happiness means for her and what does she want to achieve in her life. Based on the premise of hidden geniality. They're friends. Director initiates options, how she can enjoy her life. Helena's disability is an obstacle for people around her and it creates situations, that would healthy and free Helena never experienced. Who makes who disabled?
