Ex Oriente Film

Follow-up program

Ex Oriente Film Follow-up programme is a year-long chain of follow-up support and additional activities for projects that have completed, or are currently completing, the Ex Oriente Film workshop.

The aim of the Follow-up programme is to bring participants to key European festivals, markets, coproduction forums and partner events, as well as enable participants to further promote their projects, expand their network of contacts, and use the knowledge gained during the workshop. The programme supports directors and producers until the completion of the film that participated in the workshop, and also during its distribution.

The Follow-up programme includes a variety of scholarships and awards in the form of direct financial support as well as access to selected pitching forums and markets. It also includes ongoing support from the organizers of the workshop in the form of consultations, networking and promotion through, the Institute of Documentary Film’s social networks, and partner VOD platforms.

IDF organizes a series of online webinars and live sessions with experts and documentary industry representatives. All lectures, discussions and masterclasses are available to IDF industry participants and wide industry audience, covering various topics on documentaries and also introducing various industry specialists, reflecting on the pressing topics and challenges of storytelling and filmmaking.
The webinar programme is set up to support managing alumni participants careers and developing their international network by providing them with the opportunity to learn from established mentors actively working within the European film industry. To best benefit from the programme, producers should have a full-length documentary project in development.

When and how: All sessions take place online in the form of live streaming sessions or webinars regularly, and are held in English. As a former participant you are invited to join.
Please see the past and upcoming sessions at DOKWEB.NET or at our FB profile.
