Alongside the Ex Oriente Film workshop residential sessions, thhe organises Ex Oriente Film Follow Up program in order to support the development of the alumni projects, enhance filmmakers’ and producers’ skills and support their talent and growth of their companies and networks.
Producers Group starts this week
On Thursday, September 29, the Ex Oriente Film is launching our 2nd edition of the Producers Group - a regular online sessions tailor-made for the Ex Oriente Film alumni producers and their projects.
Led by expert producer Christian Popp, the Producers group offers consultations and lectures given by invited senior producers. Mentee-producers are welcome to bring in their new projects to the group, for individual consultations, peer-to-peer networking and experience sharing. Following their lecture, up to 5 senior international producers in roles of mentors will discuss with mentee-producers in the format of group works (5 group sessions in total). Also, each participant-producer will be matched with a senior producer for an individual online consultation.
The guest tutors of the new edition are: Hanne Phlypo (Clin d'oeil films, BE), Khadidja Benoutaf (Impact Social Club, FR), Laura Briand (Les Films d'Ici, FR) and Erik Winker (Corso Film, DE). Within the upcoming 5 online sessions, the tutors are going to cover the topics of European funding (focusing on MEDIA), co- production with France/Germany, creating an impact strategy and producing documentary series among others.
Successful first edition of Script Lab online workshop
In cooperation with the leading tutor Marc Isaacs and guest tutor Jon Bang Carlsen, we have conducted our first edition of the Ex Oriente Script Lab online workshop held within July, 7-9. The outcome for the participating directors was to improve projects treatment and director’s statement; get a better understanding of their film characters, form and method.
The first edition of Script lab hosted 9-Month Contract (dir. Ketevan Vashagashvili, Georgia), Insurance Against Meteorites (dir. Natalia Śliwowska, Jorik Galama, Poland, Netherlands) and Where I End You Begin (dir. David Power, Romania).
